Summer is Coming!
It seems that Spring has just sprung, but summer is already right around the corner. As always, we’ve got a summer full of events and want to give you the inside scoop on what’s coming up.
Frisbee Event w/ 6 Car
The first event we want you to know about is hosted by our good friends over at Six Car. If you enjoy ultimate frisbee, this event is for you! Gather your best buds (minimum of 7) and create an ultimate frisbee team. This tournament will last six weeks beginning on May 11 and will take us all the way up to the start of the Amarillo Community Market on June 1.There will be prizes for first and second place teams! At each game, Palace will be providing free coffee and Six Car will have donuts. If you prefer to spend your Saturday mornings more on the chill side of things, we totally understand. Spectators are welcome at any Saturday tournament, but sure sure to join us especially on June 1, when we'll find out the real frisbee champions of Amarillo.
Downtown + Canyon Market
We loooove that summer brings us the market! Both Amarillo and Canyon have a community market right outside our locations. And because we think coffee is an important part of any Saturday routine, our Downtown location will be open special hours for coffee every Saturday morning during market. And of course, you can pop into our Canyon shop if you’re planning to hit the Canyon market.
June Jazz
Another favorite community event that we love is June Jazz! Who doesn’t love some live jazz? Add in the fact that it’s outside during the perfect summer nights of Amarillo and we’re sold. Amarillo College has been hosting this event for years, and while we’ve always loved it, we’re extra big fans now that we have a Palace location just yards from the event. Be sure to block off Tuesday evenings in June for this community favorite. Also important to know, our Summer hours at Amarillo College will be 8am-1pm.
Welcome to Summer Party
It’s hard to believe that this will be the third year for this event. If you aren’t familiar, this summer bash is centered around a corn hole tournament but includes all different kinds of summer fun. Find your most skilled corn hole friend and work your way through our single elimination bracket tournament for a chance to win a prize package. Not confident in your corn hole skills? No problem, there will be lots of food and fun to keep you busy long after you’ve been eliminated from the tournament. Be sure to join our event page to be informed about sign ups and other details around the event. For now, the most important thing to know is this event will be taking place June 21 at Amarillo College.
Harry Potter Day
Brace yourselves for the very last Harry Potter Day (insert all the nostalgia feelings here). For those new to the event, this is a day dedicated to celebrating our favorite fictional character. Themed drinks, pastries, games and so much more. Each year is centered around one year at Hogwarts. Together, we’ve experienced six years at Hogwarts and now it’s time to say goodbye as we’ve arrived at our last year. We’re so sad to see this beloved event come to end. But you better believe we’re making this event the biggest yet. To give you an idea of just how big, we’ve been referring to it as “Squary Potter,” meaning you can anticipate lots of your favorite locations on the square to be participating. What we’re saying is, Canyon is the place to be July 27th.
