About this coffee
Duke represents Palace Coffee's dark roast offering, tailored for coffee drinkers who desire a complex coffee profile. It maintains distinctive origin traits while also embracing a robust, darker character.
Origin and Process Our latest Duke blend is comprised of a Natural Ethiopian coffee from the Sidama region. Opting for such a coffee in a dark roast is atypical, yet our roasting team at Palace Coffee was curious about the potential outcome. We've successfully roasted these beans to the brink of the second crack, infusing them with a bold roast quality, yet still capturing the subtle berry sweetness that the Natural drying process imparts. Coffee Facts: Sidama Coffee
Trademark Excellence: Sidama is one of Ethiopia's trademarked coffee regions, celebrated for its premium grade one and two beans.
Optimal Conditions: Nestled in the highlands, Sidama's elevation promotes a slow maturation of coffee cherries, yielding sweeter and more acidic flavors.
Cultural Richness: The Sidama region is culturally distinct, with a population of over 7.8 million celebrating unique traditions and a UNESCO recognized New Year.
Flavor Profile: Known for its spiced and citrusy notes, Sidama coffee offers a diverse flavor spectrum due to its varied cooperatives and microclimates.
